Cuir grainé or cuir lisse

Grain is not merely a matter of touch. A cuir grainé, with its marked surface, absorbs light and conceals micro-scratches: it yields a supple large bag that settles on the shoulder and accepts being loaded. A cuir lisse, finished without relief, reflects more light and holds clean angles: the line stays defined, marks show a little more. The first accompanies full days, the second the appointments where the bag is part of the silhouette. A large format you keep

Leather is the material that best justifies a large format — it holds over time what canvas eventually gives way to.
