women’s fine pullover

Soeur treats the fine pullover as a second skin for the mid-season wardrobe. Light, close to the body, fluid to the touch, it can be worn alone or layered beneath a shirt or jacket. At the heart of our collection of pullovers and cardigans, the fine pullover comes in a V-neck, round collar, roll-neck collar or high collar, in materials that can be worn directly against the skin: merino wool, cashmere, fine cotton or blended alpaca.

Fine pullover or thicker pullover?

Fine knit and chunky knit do not play the same role in the wardrobe. The fine pullover, close to the body, is first worn in layers: under a blazer, beneath an open shirt, or as a base layer on the coldest days. It disappears into the line of the bust without distorting it. The wool pullover classic, in grosse maille or laine peignée, does the opposite: worn alone outdoors, it becomes the piece that truly gives structure and warmth. The merino wool pullover fine holds a third, more adaptable position, halfway between the two. In a considered wardrobe, they are often found together: the fine for the base, the merino for mild days, the thick for the heart of winter.

From mid-season to winter

Beyond the winter wardrobe, the fine pullover is also a mid-season piece. In spring and autumn, it replaces the T-shirt beneath a light jacket or an open shirt; in round collar or in a fine roll-neck collar, it accompanies the first cool days without calling for a coat. Very fine merino can even be worn in summer, against the skin, in destinations where evenings cool quickly. In winter, it slips beneath a blazer or an open shirt, over a pleated trousers or high-waisted jeans. cachemire extends the season a little further, while retaining the same fineness of fibre.
